Asphalt Pavement Grouting Ensures Safety And Smoothness

On April 28th, road construction activities were in full swing in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, as the Municipal Construction and Management Center's Road Support Department undertook asphalt grouting to address road cracks. So far, nearly 5,500 meters of road sections, including Binhe East Road and North Street, have been treated. The team plans to extend their efforts to repair damaged surfaces on key roads like Yuyao Road and Guangji North Road, enhancing travel conditions for residents.

In conjunction with ongoing winter maintenance, the project adheres to strict guidelines for "safe construction," ensuring thorough joint cleaning and complete crack filling for smooth road surfaces. This "micro treatment" technique focuses on expressways and main roads in the northern part of the city, emphasizing uniform thickness and strong bonding of the repair materials.

The grouting process acts as preventive maintenance, effectively stopping water seepage that can damage the road base. Using a precise heating method, the solid sealant is liquefied and injected into the cracks, repairing them and preventing moisture infiltration. This proactive approach aims to address road issues at their early stages, ensuring safer and more reliable roadways for the community.
