How to shift gears in a bulldozer
Leave a message
The shifting operation of a bulldozer involves multiple steps and precautions to ensure safe and efficient operation. The following are the basic steps and precautions for shifting gears:
Preparation before starting. Before starting the bulldozer, make sure that the main clutch is in a disengaged state, that is, the lever is at the front or rear to avoid damage during starting.
Gear shifting operation. First, push the throttle handle to the low-speed idling position, and then push the main clutch lever to the front to disengage the main clutch. At this time, the shift lever can be correctly moved to the desired gear. Then put the forward and reverse levers in the forward or reverse position. After shifting gears, pull the throttle handle back to increase the engine speed, and smoothly connect the main clutch, and the bulldozer starts to travel.
Gear selection. The gears of a bulldozer generally include forward gears and reverse gears. The specific number and settings of gears may vary depending on the model. For example, some bulldozers may have 1st gear, 2nd gear, neutral gear, and 2 reverse gears. When shifting gears, the principle of "accelerating first when shifting up and decelerating first when shifting down" should be followed to ensure that the vehicle shifts gears at an appropriate speed.
Precautions. During the shifting process, if you find that you cannot shift a certain gear, you can gently pull the main clutch operating handle to rotate the transmission shaft and stop it before shifting gears. Because the inner teeth of the outer meshing sleeve are not aligned with the meshing teeth of the gear, it is normal that you cannot shift gears. In addition, during the speed change and forward and backward process, you should first step on the accelerator pedal and then pull the speed lever. If the vehicle does not move when pulling from a certain gear to the required gear, you can pull from a certain gear to the neutral position and then pull to the required gear.
Safety rules. The driver must understand and be able to master the performance, maintenance, use and operation procedures of the bulldozer. It is absolutely forbidden to start the bulldozer when it fails. When the bulldozer is in operation, it is not allowed to be repaired or adjusted, and it is forbidden for people to stand on the push rod and bow frame when working.
